Jonathan Owens is thrilled for Simone Biles’ brand new venture..
Simone Biles cemented her status as the best gymnast in the world at the 2024 Paris Olympics. After winning three golds and one silver medal, she returned to America as the most-decorated gymnast, male or female, in U.S. history.
While it remains unclear whether Biles will return to compete at the 2028 Olympics Games in Los Angeles, the 27-year-old announced a new career venture on Sept. 23. In a press release, George Bush Intercontinental Airport revealed the 11-time medalist is opening “A Taste of Gold” restaurant in Terminal A near gate A8.
The following day, Biles’ husband, Chicago Bears safety Jonathan Owens, sent a strong message supporting his wife’s latest career move.
Owens posted on X, “So proud of my baby!!!! Can’t wait until it opens.”
Houston, where Biles and Owens are in the midst of building their dream home, is also the location of the World Champions Centre, the gymnastics academy owned by her parents, Nellie and Ron Biles.
“I am very excited to partner with The Playmakers Group and their dedicated team to help bring a new restaurant to my hometown airport,” Biles stated in the press release.
“I am a foodie at heart, and our hope with Taste of Gold is to offer a beautiful dining experience that features award-winning, signature menu items with some of my favorite flavors sprinkled in for our guests.”
A Taste of Gold is scheduled to open in 2025.
