Brady rescued the New England Patriots countless times, but he couldn’t help Jones on this occasion.

Chandler Jones revealed he tried to call the NFL legend, Tom Brady, during an incident with the police back in 2023, with the hope that the New England Patriots icon could help calm the situation with officers.

Jones played as a defensive end alongside Brady at the Gillette Stadium from 2012-2015 and clearly the quarterback’s character left an impression on the 34-year-old, who doesn’t have a contract for 2024/25.

The Rochester-born football player had his flashpoint with law enforcement in November 2023, two months after being arrested by the police, when they tried to take him to a medical facility under order from the court.

As per TMZ Sports, the situation turned nasty when an officer told him people were concerned for his well-being, to which Jones then said, “Get the f**k out. Get the f**k out of here.”

Jones retreated inside of his mansion but then came back out of the property not too long later as he refused to go and see a doctor and requested to call his brother, Jon Jones, the MMA star fighter.

The current UFC heavyweight champion was unavailable and the ex-NFL player then tried to flee the scene but was caught, tackled and put in cuffs by the officers and given a second chance to call someone.

It’s here that he tried to contact the seven-time NFL champion, Brady, who did not pick up the call from the iPad before he managed to contact one of his representatives, who had the situation explained to him.

Jones was then taken to the medical facilities “without further issues” per a police report after he walked to a squad car with the officers.

Additional body-camera footage from officers belonging to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office showed the ex-Arizona Cardinal in nothing but his underwear before he accused the dogs of a woman present of biting him.

The incident went on for several minutes before the police asked if he wanted to press charges, which he denied and began to break down in tears apparently overwhelmed by the situation as he said he didn’t want to get the woman in trouble.

Jones’ NFL career ends

It seems as though the arrest and then the subsequent incident has brought the two-time All-Pro’s NFL career to an end since he has been without contract for the 2023/24 season and now the ongoing 2024/25 campaign.

He played for the Patriots, Cardinals and the Raiders and won a Super Bowl ring in the 2014 season when the Patriots defeated the Seattle Seahawks 28-24.
