The reason many of them gave him their wrist sizes…
After signing a massive contract extension, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is feeling the pressure from his teammates expecting luxury gifts.
Following Prescott’s four-year, $240 million contract extension, several Cowboys players humorously hinted that they’re awaiting some high-end watches.
In a light-hearted moment shared by Jon Machota of The Athletic, Prescott revealed that many of his teammates gave him their wrist sizes, hoping for a Rolex or Audemars Piguet as a celebratory gift. While some players were quick to submit their requests, defensive star Micah Parsons joked on social media.
“Dak you ain’t get mine wtf!!!” he wrote.
A record deal
Prescott’s new deal is a record-breaker, making him the highest-paid player in the NFL with an average of $60 million per year and $231 million in guaranteed money. The deal came after extended negotiations, despite Prescott already being under contract through 2024.
Last season, Prescott put together a stellar campaign, throwing for 4,516 yards and leading the NFL with 36 touchdown passes.
His accuracy, completing nearly 70 percent of his throws, cemented his place as the leader of the Cowboys offense. Dallas also locked down his top target, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, with a new four-year, $136 million contract just weeks earlier.
The Cowboys kicked off their 2024 season in style, defeating the Cleveland Browns 33-17. Prescott contributed 179 passing yards and a touchdown, while Parsons led a dominant defensive effort, recording a sack and helping the team tally six sacks against Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson.
