Ryan Murphy, the mastermind behind Grotesquerie, has spilled the tea on Taylor Swift’s key advice to her boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce, as he steps into the world of acting. Kelce, who makes his acting debut in Murphy’s latest FX series, reportedly took Swift’s encouraging words to heart, embracing the challenge of being vulnerable in front of the camera.

Murphy, known for American Horror Story, shared how Kelce worked through his anxiety about acting, saying, “He went into that knowing it was going to be a little scary, and it was for him.” But thanks to Taylor’s unwavering support, Kelce was able to embrace the challenge head-on.

According to Murphy, Taylorgave her boyfriend one simple yet powerful piece of advice. “Taylor’s very supportive of him, and if he has an interest, she wanted him to try it,” Murphy revealed to E! News at the premiere of Grotesquerie in New York on September 23. “I was thrilled about that.”

Murphy praised Kelce’s commitment, noting that the Kansas City Chiefs tight end memorized an entire scene rewrite in just 10 minutes, leaving the director in awe. “He’s very, very smart, and he’s got something important,” Murphy said. “If Travis Kelce wants to be a big movie star, he could do it.”

Kelce is a natural
Though this was Kelce’s first major acting role, Murphy said the athlete didn’t need much guidance. “A star is a star is a star-and he’s a star,” Murphy emphasized. “He’s so charismatic, so smart, and lovely to work with.”

Kelce’s work ethic on set also impressed the American Horror Story creator. “He knew everybody’s lines,” Murphy shared, adding that Kelce was the first to arrive and the last to leave, showcasing the same leadership qualities he brings to the football field.

Travis Kelce appears alongside Niecy Nash in the first episode of Grotesquerie, which premieres September 25 on FX and will stream on Hulu the next day. As Kelce tackles this new chapter, it’s clear that Taylor Swift’s support has been pivotal in his journey-both on and off the screen.
