Taylor Swift Fans Outraged Over New Images With Travis Kelce

Taylor Swift has been enjoying some much-needed downtime with Travis Kelce between shows in Australia but fans aren’t impressed with how the media treats the couple.

The pop superstar is Down Under for her record-breaking Eras Tour and has just finished a series of shows in the southern city of Melbourne, where she played to 96,000 people at each of the three concerts. The singer is performing sold-out shows in Sydney from February 23 to 26.

The NFL star jetted out to join his girlfriend and they have been taking in the sights. The couple visited Sydney Zoo together and were spotted petting a kangaroo. However, fans aren’t happy and have been slamming Australian media on X (formerly Twitter) for using a helicopter to take pictures and videos of the pair at the zoo.

“[I don’t know] how to explain the way this is making me feel, but know it deeply upsets me. i want to enjoy these pictures/videos, but instead, i just feel sick and freaked out. why were australian news channels stalking her by helicopter?? i’m so frustrated, that wasn’t okay,” one person wrote.

“I’m glad that Taylor and Travis are able to spend time doing normal things whilst they’re visiting different countries without crowds forming but I can’t put into words how much I hate that people are taking photos of them from a helicopter, it’s not hard to respect their privacy,” said another.

“The irony of Taylor and Travis being on a date at the zoo and the Australian media treating them like zoo animals and filming and live reporting with helicopters,” someone else posted.

Another X user said Australian news channels “need to get a grip” and said the media’s behavior is “embarrassing.”

“Why is it so hard to stop stalking people with a helicopter?? this is not okay,” they wrote. “Stalking and obsessing over taylor and travis is not okay; it will NEVER be okay. they’re harassing them. this is a major invasion of their privacy. why are they intentionally intruding on their nice day out together? anyone with basic morals knows that this is not right, what is so complicated about not stalking people?

“i’ve only became aware of these news channels in the past 12 hours, and it’s already abundantly clear to me that their morals lie in a horrific, evil place. these news channels must be run by incredibly cruel people.”

The X user added: “taylor and travis would never feel safe or comfortable doing anything like this in america, and i’m so happy they got to do this together. it’s adorable. however, out of my genuine respect for them as people, i wish they could’ve had this nice day together without the added stress of helicopters filming and photographing them. that is a [total] invasion of their privacy, it’s not okay.”

However, other fans are happy to have seen the footage of the couple.

“taylor and travis feeding a kangaroo because literally this might be my favorite thing ever,” one person wrote.

“Taylor and Travis are just so freaking cute! When I see them together, it gives me so much instant serotonin!!” said another.

This isn’t the only aerial footage that has been taken since the couple arrived in Australia. When Kelce landed in Sydney on a private jet from Hawaii to join his girlfriend, Today, a breakfast news program, shared a video of his arrival. Fans were upset by the helicopter footage being aired on television.

“This is so f****** weird. why is this BREAKING NEWS, this is not what breaking news is,” one viral post reads. “When it comes down to it, this is just a singer’s boyfriend and his friend getting off an airplane. it’s not some crazy revelation that the plane landed in the location it was headed.

“They’re literally stalking travis and taylor and it’s completely out of control. they’re making it seem like it’s okay and normal to track their locations, and it’s not. that’s not okay. that will never be okay. that should never, ever be normalized. i’m extremely excited that they’re both there to watch and support taylor but why is it national news??”

Part of the stadium at Swift’s first Sydney show was evacuated on Friday after lightning strikes nearby, with some on social media saying they were as close as 10 km (6 miles).

It was due to start at 6.20 p.m. local time but the stadium was partially evacuated according to posts on X, formerly Twitter, and local media.

“The floor and lower bowl are currently being evacuated due to lightning strikes nearby the stadium at today’s show of Taylor Swift’s ‘The Eras Tour’ in Sydney, Australia. Please stay safe and seek shelter for now,” a post on X read.
