Stephen A. Smith CRITICIZES those against the Travis Kelce – Taylor Swift romance: GET A LIFE

Super Bowl LVIII has no shortage of storylines and potential narratives. It’s the first Super Bowl ever to be played in Las Vegas, and a rematch of Super Bowl LIV four years ago. The San Francisco 49ers are hoping to end a 29-year wait for a championship, while the Kansas City Chiefs are aiming to lift the Vince Lombardi Trophy for the third time in five seasons.

But the romance between Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and Grammy-winning pop star Taylor Swift is the only thing on many fans’ minds. Media coverage of the pair has taken off since their relationship was confirmed in October, and there have been plenty of supporters cheering on the reportedly-happy couple — as well as a number of detractors floating conspiracy theories about them. One prominent TV personality has had enough of the haters, and he called them out from Vegas on Friday.

Stephen A. goes off: When will people get a life?

In a conversation with The Athletic, ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith slammed the negative coverage around Kelce and Swift, and he even wondered aloud as to whether enough “Tayvis” haters had meaningful relationships in their own lives.

“Y’all ain’t getting none?” Smith asked rhetorically. “Y’all don’t have a girlfriend or a boyfriend? I mean, what the hell’s going on?”

Smith is ubiquitous around ESPN programming and has long been known for his passionate, outspoken nature. He decried baseless suggestions that Kelce and Swift’s relationship is some kind of plot to aid Democrats ahead of the 2024 elections in the United States, saying that Kelce watching Swift perform in Germany — and Swift accompanying Kelce to Chiefs playoff games in Buffalo and Baltimore — speaks to the true nature of their romance.

“It’s their business,” Smith said. “I’m happy for Travis Kelce because he’s a good brother. I’m happy for Taylor Swift because she’s a phenomenal artist. But at some point in time, they both need to look at everybody and say, ‘get a life.'”

Swift and Kelce’s combined power
While the Kelce-Swift relationship has not been manufactured by the US government as some sort of pre-election ploy, rumors to the contrary do confirm that the couple is among the country’s most influential. For example, recent polling has found that at least one out of every six Americans would vote for a political candidate backed by Kelce and Swift.

The combined wealth of Kelce and Swift has also contributed to the kind of media coverage that the pair receives. Swift has sold well over 200 million records during her career, while Kelce’s annual salary is over $10 million.
