With their chaotic schedules, Simone Biles is enjoying any moment she can get with her husband Jonathan Owens — as evidenced by the cozy photo she recently shared of their morning together.

In a rare break from her Gold Over America Tour schedule and his Chicago Bears practices, Biles, 27, posted a snapshot of herself and Owens cuddling up in bed on her Instagram Stories with the caption, “Waking up next to you>>>>>.”

Biles, wearing a white oversized sweatshirt with long, flowing waves around her head, appeared to be smiling in the photo with her eyes closed, as Owens, 29, nuzzled her neck with his face away from the camera and the two held each other.

Earlier this month, the 11-time Olympic gold medalist shared a series of photos alongside her husband, the Chicago Bears safety on Instagram on Oct. 2. She sweetly captioned the post: “struck gold with this one 🫶🏾.”

The photos seem to have been taken during Biles’ Gold Over America Tour Milwaukee stop on Saturday, Sept. 28 where Owens surprised her by coming to watch. She is currently headlining the tour along with Team USA gymnasts Jordan Chiles, Jade Carey, Hezly Rivera, Fred Richard and more in a gymnastics competition-meets-concert experience.

Meanwhile, she joined Owens in Chicago the next day for her tour’s evening performance and the Bears’ game against the Los Angeles Rams at Soldier Field.

After the couple met and started dating in March 2020, they got married at a Houston courthouse in April 2023, celebrating with their loved ones at a much bigger wedding in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, weeks later.

It was a total GOAT-fest at the Gold Over America Tour (we see what you did there, event organizers!). Tennis legend Serena Williams, along with her husband, Reddit cofounder Alexis Ohanian, and their daughter Olympia attended the gymnastics spectacle, and the backstage meet-and-greet pics are too cute. Turns out Olympia (first name Alexis, after her dad) loves the same Olympian we all do: Simone Biles.

“I had to take S & Jr to see @simonebiles’ Gold Over America Tour. Packed house. Awesome night. Don’t miss it if they’re coming to your town. 🥇🥇🥇 And thank you Simone and @jordanchiles for absolutely making Olympia’s MONTH 🥞 I bought all the merch I could and even tried making this morning’s pancake look like Olympia in one of her new leotards – sorry babygirl, photorealism is hard 😆😆 and the batter was too runny today,” Ohanian wrote on Instagram, sharing pictures from the outing. In the first slide, Olympia, in all pink, beams beside Biles in a gold leotard.

Don’t let the forced perspective fool you: the seven-year-old is not as tall as a grown woman…Biles is just very, very petite. In the second slide, she and gymnast Jordan Chiles flash peace signs. That Girl vibes. Biles posted a group photo to her Instagram Story, as captured by Ohanian, clearly excited to see Serena Williams while on tour.

Williams and Ohanian’s younger daughter, Adira, is still too little for such an outing, but soon she and Olympia might be the next…well…Venus and Serena. As sister-friends if not sister-athletes. “I mean, I grew up with girls. I’d honestly never been around boys unless I was dating one,” Woman of the Year Williams told Glamour of having two daughters. “And sisters are so special.”

We love seeing women athletes supporting one another. In August, Biles and fellow Olympian Gabby Thomas attended their first WNBA game and met up with Indiana Fever player Caitlin Clark, one of the most exciting female basketball players currently in the game.

Serena Williams has surgery to remove cyst size of ‘a small grapefruit’ from her neck

Serena Williams says she had a benign cyst removed from her neck.
Tennis legend Serena Williams says she recently underwent surgery to remove a branchial cyst “the size of a grapefruit” from her neck.

Williams said she found the lump back in May and initially opted against surgery after several tests confirmed it was benign.

However, she was later advised by doctors to get it removed because “it kept growing” and was at risk of getting infected.

Branchial cleft cysts are sacs filled with fluid found in the neck and can appear as lumps or swelling under the skin. They can range from one centimeter to 10 centimeters (almost four inches) in size and are “benign lesions,” according to the National Institutes of Health.

In a video posted to TikTok, the 23-time grand slam champion said she is “feeling good” after the surgery and recorded herself going shopping with daughter Olympia.

“I am feeling so grateful and fortunate everything worked out, and most of all I’m healthy,” she said.

“I still made it to American (Girl) doll with Olympia as promised. And yes, all is OK.”

Williams said she missed Rafael Nadal announcing his retirement while she was undergoing surgery.

“I am still recovering, but getting better,” she wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Health always comes first.”

Williams, who turned 43 in September, last played competitive tennis at her farewell at the 2022 US Open.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest tennis players of all time, her 23 grand slam titles are an Open Era record and one shy of the all-time record held by Margaret Court.

Williams also won 14 grand slam doubles titles with sister Venus and four Olympic gold medals.

In a January 2024 interview with Vanity Fair, Biles opened up about the instant attraction she felt toward her husband when they first met.

“If I’m going to be honest, obviously he’s very fine,” she said. “[But] besides his looks, he was so sweet and kind, and I think what I liked about him was his confidence. He truly believes he’s the best at everything.”

For Owens, what drew him to Biles right away was her laugh. In the same interview, he added, “We could talk all day and we’d stayed up late, and there just wasn’t an awkward moment.”
