Exclusive: Taylor Swift surprises her fans when she accidentally omits Travis Kelce in her Grammys thank you speech.

Rumours of discontentment between Taylor Swift and the Kansas City Chiefs’ Travis Kelce won’t have been calmed by the fact that she didn’t mention him in her Grammy-winning speeches. Swift took to the stage to collect the award for best album of the year for Midnights, which was released on October 2022, and as she reflected on her emotions and her work that has won her a record fourth album of the year prize.

Then she headed up to the stage for a second time to collect the award for best pop vocal too, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles and, once again, did not name drop her boyfriend in her speech.

It comes following rumors that the pair might not be in a good place with disputes between travelling plans and schedules since she is touring the world on her Eras Tour and Kelce is competing in the NFL.

With Swift being in Eurasia and Kelce playing weekly for the Chiefs, there isn’t much time for them to see each other and so far it’s been Swift who has pinballed between locations.

But apparently they have agreed that at the conclusion of the season, on February 11, when Kelce will know if he is a two-time or three-time Super Bowl champion, he will begin to make the miles back up to take pressure off his partner’s flight log.

Is there a logical explanation?

Firstly, Swift didn’t mention anyone’s name. She spoke about her desire to carry on and when she receives joy from her work. It felt like a very personal and open admission from the 34-year-old star.

Secondly, the pair hadn’t met in October 2022 so obviously he didn’t play a hand in helping her develop the album.

The awards ceremony was for 2022 so the prizes she has been given predate their relationship and thus it doesn’t make sense to credit Kelce for something he wasn’t around for.

Here’s what she said:

“It makes me unbelievably blown away that it makes some people happy who voted for this award, too,” Swift said during her first acceptance speech. “All I want to do is keep doing this.

“I would love to tell you that this is the best moment in my life,” Swift later said. “But I feel this happy when I finished a song or when I cracked the code to a bridge that I love.

“Or, when I’m shortlisting a music video or when I’m rehearsing with my dancers or my band or getting ready to go to Tokyo to play a show. For me, the award is the work.”
